Congress on vacation, WTH?

I am reaching out to you as a woman, mother, and an American. On numerous occasions I have tried to explain the role of the President and Congress... Mostly due to the whining I hear about hatred towards our President and how he doesn't do enough to help. Well, history is in the making and we can make a difference!
Have you heard that Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, has sent our Representatives home! They are now on vacation! These are the men and women whose job is to represent our wants and needs... They are the men and women that can help us out of this gas/oil/energy crisis! We are still paying too much- there is still a problem- and they have gone home for a vacation? How wrong is that! They have a job to do!
There are still a few members that have refused to leave- they are sitting there in debate, trying to come up with a solution to our problem... However, Ms. Speaker of the House has decided that they are not going to be heard!
This is not a party issue- it does not matter if you are a Republican or a Democrat. It does not matter if you like or dislike our President. It does not matter if you are voting for McCain or Obama. What matters is US, the American people. The very people these "Representatives" are supposed to be taking care of. We voted for them and gave them our blessings to make the right decisions for our country! We need them and they went off on vacation!
Please, take a moment and send your local representative a quick email... remind them that they are supposed to be making decisions that are in our best interest! They have a job to do- NO VACATION UNTIL THEY ARE DONE!

It doesn't matter if you voted for these people or not. If you live in their area, they are supposed to be listening to YOU!

*Edited to add: While it is important to email your representative- we can all email Ms. Pelosi, as she represents us all as the Speaker of the House. One million emails might be just what she needs to remind her of her job!*

This is a travesty !!!!! I listened to this on the radio and it is unbelievable that she would do this while the Republicans were still debating! Shows who REALLY wants to help the American people, doesn't it ?????
People have forgotten SIMPLE High School Government History and what the Constitution says. The president doesn't make laws or Legislation. he can ASK for it to be done. He can Veto or sign laws and legislation that comes to him. He has no control over the economy, creating jobs, Gas, oil or companies like Enron. CONGRESS DOES! He CAN NOT take us into battle without concent from the congress. I have sourses and links on my page of what those people said, including BILL CLINTON about WMDs.
Ever since Pelosi took over Speaker, the Economy has gone straigh to hell!
Bill Clinton wasn't responsible for the good Economy we had when he was in office. The first two year congress was run by the democrats. During those years we saw interest rate rise and we saw our taxes rise TWICE! Then the American People voted in a Republican Congress led by Newt Gingrich and then and ONLY then did we see relief!
I have the full history and sources on my page to prove this. Plus a copy of the US constitution that explains the powers of the Congress and the Speaker Of The House. The Speaker, in essence, has more power than the VP!

Voted popular and emailed my Representative along with pelosi with my dissatisfaction over shirking their duties.

They have had all the time in the world to "solve" the gasoline problem. Since Katrina it has steadily increased and nothing has been done. Our gas prices recently have gone down almost 40 cents but now they have decided to have a sit in about it? What about the last few years? Why aren't we discussing alternative forms of energy? Or price gouging (record profits anyone?) If they can change things, more power to them but it sounds like posturing to me.
