A totally useful term!  I foresee this being used a lot - perhaps being edited to "that's so AJ" in front of the kids.

Background :  On This American Life, one of my all time favorite podcasts, the episode called "a little bit of knowledge,"  Nancy Updike tells of a time when she and some friends were going on and on about some architechtural features being "Moorish," despite the fact that none of htem had any special knowledge of architechture.  One of them stopped talking and then said "we sound like we should be in a magazine!   One called American Jackass"

Host Ira Glass describes the thing that we all do at some point: talk expertly about something we don't actually know anything about. It's so common, explains This American Life contributing editor Nancy Updike, that some friends of hers invented an imaginary magazine devoted to such blathering. It's called "Modern Jackass."
