Mirena...

Since I got the mirena, I believe it was the 25th of July (it was the friday around that... I dont have a calendar on me), I have been cramping/bleeding. My doctor inserts it when you're on your period... I dont know if that has anything to do with it... but I was fine. My period just lasted a little longer then usual. Then it was a light spotty bleed (not even pad worthy (but I used one anyway)) Then this past Saturday(the 2nd), the bleeding went away. Today I woke up with the worst menstrual cramps... which I never get & Im bleeding again. Is this normal? I dont fair well with any birth control... With all the ones Ive tried (pills, patches, shots) I always bleed for the whole time Im on it... I cant take it anymore... I dont know what to do... I have my check up next Thurs... should I wait?

I bled on and off for 3 months after mine was put in.  I think its normal unless you have really really heavy read blood (then it could have punctured the wall of your uterus).   When I have my period now (had it 8 months now), the cramping is worse than I have had in the past but, my period only last for 2 days and is very light.

Hey girl...I got my mirena put in around the same time as you did. I've had some cramps....but have pretty much been spotting the entire time. I heard this is normal, so I'm waiting til my checkup on the 21st to talk with my OB. Let me know what your's says

From what I read about it yes it is the norm. I wanted to do it but I go to a hospital/obgyn that wont do it so I am on Losetrin 24 and I hate it. It has my peroid so messed up it isn't funny. I got it and it lasted a week and a half. Oh well at least I got it right.
