I think I finally decided on a tatoo! Only thing is, I'm VERY picky about how it would look. I'd like to have the comedy/tragedy masks that represent the theater.
So far, this is the one I've found that I like the best:

But I'm worried it's too complicated. I don't want a tattoo that's going to get all runny and fuzzy in a few years, and I don't want to go every other week to drop a bunch of dimes to get it touched up!
I don't know...anyone out there know how to draw? I don't, so all I have at my disposal is photobucket and google.
Oh--the plan is to get it on my side, about 4 inches below my right armpit, on my ribs. That's my favorite tattoo spot, thought admittedly, it would work better for a pic that was longer vertically than it was horizontally.
Congratulations! I like it. I'm no artist or tattoo expert but I think it will work fine. The artist that does it though should be able to add his/her own art elements to get something closer to what you want, maybe even draw one from scratch for you.
I'm hoping to get my husband to get a matching one. We both LOVE the theater, even though having kids makes it tough to get into it too much.
I think the matching tats will be totally cool. I have 2 tatoos and John has 1. I love them all. Just put sunscreen on it when you're in the sun. I've had mine 15 years and it's not a bit faded.
Go to your tatooer (real word?) and give them the design. Let them play with it- they may have something cool that you'll love!
I think that this will look great. If the artist is any good, you shouldn't need to get it touched up. You can (should be able to) schedule appointments to talk to artists...... then you can show them the picture and ask their opinions on it. The gas station down the road from me has tattoo mags, you might want to check some out too.
My tat did fade a bit, but I think it was because I was lax with the sunscreen.
I hate to do that to you in a journal, but you'll thank me later.
As for tatToo (hint) advice, ask local friends with tattoos, find a shop, research the shop, check out portfolios and have an artist work with you on a design.

Woman, I have no artistic talent what so ever. I don't think it's too complicated though, nor do I think you will need to have it touched up constantly. But all I know about tattoos is gleaned from an ex (many many years ago) that was a tattoo artist and form LA Ink, so what do I know.
