Day from freaking HELL I tell you!
All weekend I've been hearing from Foster Princess that she is going to dinner with Mommy at 6 pm on Tuesday.
No one fron DYFS called to tell me there was an additional visit or that a visit was changed.... so I live with it all weekend "Oh really? That's nice honey. Where are you going? know what you are going to eat? " etc.
I called the case worker today - she had NO CLUE until she listened to all her messages that the mom had left over the WEEKEND when she knows no one is there and then got my message.
Caseworker calls the 3rd party agency that will supervise the visit and reads them the riot act - how no one consulted her or me and that Mom cannot just go making arrangements on her own. I agreed to keep the visitation beacuse Princess is only 6 not 16 - she will be DEVESTATED if she cannot see mom tomorrow. Mom also got a phone call and her ass reamed by said case worker.
Then as I am walking out the door to get Little Man and Princess from camp - the girl from the licensing dpeartment of DYFS calls me. Apparently they cannot continue to process us for licensing because one of our references came back as a negative.
WTH?!?!?!?!
I'm thinking of the three people we gave them names and numbers for ...NO. It was the kids pediatrician who in addition to the medical forms he was asked to fill out decided to write a letter stating that he would not reccomend ANY child be placed with us because of Little Man's ADHD and mood disorder. He told them Little Man is overly aggressive and tends to be violent?!?!?!?! it went on and on.
I was APPALLED - this man spends no more than 10 minutes at a clip with Little Man when he is ill. He has never acted up in his office except to interrupt during conversations and can be a little difficult to settle back down - but he has never been violent or anything like that in his office.
Little Man was hospitalized in March of 2007 in a pysch ward but mainly because the psychaitrist he was seeing at the time had him on too many meds and wrong combos - there has not been ONE incident since the child was released from the hospital! I have NO IDEA where this man gets off doing this.
Eldest has an appointment tomorrow morning for a meds check for his concerta and I will be calling to cancel. We will also be looking for a new pediatrician. Last week his office help screwed up paperwork royally for me and left a script sitting for a week without calling me ( their policy is to call when it's ready and they get VERY pissy if you call them) anyway... I cannot sit there and be all nicey nice in this mans face tomorrow so.... arghhhhhh Because of him and his stupidity we may not be able to become licensed which means we may not be able to keep Princess OR get any other kids Or adopt!
I'm so pissed - I cried for 2 solid hours today!
Lucikly - the case workers supervisor is willing to work with us as we have all sorts of support from various invetigators and case workers and I am having Little Man's counselor and psychaitrist write letters and fax them to her... I told them they needs treatment dates, how they think I handle Little Man etc. so - hopefully this will get us to pass! Prayers please!
Thanks if you got this far!

It WILL work out for you. If this is your bliss; TO LOVE CHILDREN, then folow it. Allow no other option, Mama...Just move forward with the LIGHT YOKNOW YOU'VE GOT. You are gifted...keep going.
THERE IS NO OTHER OPTION, if this is your bliss.

That is the day from Hell! Sorry you're going through all of this. It's really sad that people able and willing (wanting even) to provide these "lost" children with love and support are put through such crap, while so many bad foster parents are continued to be sent children. Good Luck my thoughts are with you!
