Devon had a sore on his knee the other day and this is what it did..
I took him to the ER today and the ass Dr. said it was MRSA and really didn't seem to concerned with him. I guess I thought this was a bad infection but I guess not. Devon is in a lot of pain and is having a hard time walking...oh and a fever. I've never seen him sleep so much. poor guy.

anyone esle on here have this or has had this?? I guess I would like more info.. was not happy with what the dr said.. oh we are all suppose to wash with baby shampoo...
Comments:
From your picture It looks like a spider bite my son had that got infected. He ran a fever and he vomited and had diarrhea. He got a shot and an oral antibiotic and he was fine in about a week. It took a little longer for the bite to heal, but the infection was gone. MRSA is a type of staph infection. If you have a regular doctor call him and ask about it.
Ummm...I would definitely get a second opinion. I have a friend whose children get staph infections all the time and they ALWAYS have to have a strong antibiotic to get rid of it. One of her children ended up in the hospital one time because lack of concern either on her part or the doctor's part (can't remember which). Best of luck!
oh the dr gave him an antibiotic and some cream to put on it.. but I'll give it a couple of day and see if it gets better before I take him somewhere else....
my poor guy! Tell him I hope he starts to feel better and I would take him somewhere else because I thought MRSA was an infection that is highly contagious. When my grandma Mary had it they made us wash are hands upon entering and leaving the room and they had to where gowns and booties and hair things! I do believe kids were getting that from school last year and a couple of people even died! So I doubt it is MRSA but I'm not a DR.
In my line of work I clean surgical intruments after then have been used and alot of times I get them from people who has MRSA. Its not something that is highly contagious but it can be caught through fluid or open wounds its nothing that can be cause by breathing it. It has to be contact. MRSA can be bad if it is left untreated. Maybe the Dr. didnt think it was bad enough to freak out over and a antibiotic will cure. If you feel better about it I would take him to his regular Dr. If it goes untreated he will have to have major surgery to have it removed and they will have to take big portions of skin. It can get in your bone and internal organs when untreated. I hope the little guy feels better soon!!!
hi im shannon. i hope you have figured out if it was mrsa or not. i sure hope it wasnt. my son (2 1/2) has mrsa. it doesnt really ever go away. it started at the begining of the year. we've had 3 outbreaks so far. and an emergency surgery. anyway i wont give our life story...... i dont know much about it but just wanted to extend my little bit of experience if you need any advice and such. i hope hes doing better. ;)
