Ok so my Brother in Law and I don't really get along.  He doesn't like the fact that I speak my mind and will tell him exactly how I feel.  I'll give you a little history on us before I get into the recent cause for me to want to hit him in the mouth.

He is 23 and lives at home.  No big deal since he is going to school.  But he chooses not to help at all and expects his mom to do his laundry and clean his room.  He doesnt pay rent or help with groceries even though he has a full time job, which if that is what his parents agreed on then ok, but he gets very possessive of his things to the point of grabbing chips he bought out of his fathers hands when he saw him eating them.  I can't make jokes around him without somehow offending him.  At my baby shower in Dec.  I made a joke about his facial hair.  I said it looked like a little furry mammal living on the end of his chin.  He got seriously offended and still holds it against me to this day.  I walk on eggshells whenever he is around.

Ok so yesterday we went over to Michaels parents for dinner and Matt (my BIL) and his girlfriend happened to be there.  We were all sitting around the table talking and the Olympics came up.  We talked about how amazing Phelps was doing and the politics surrounding the Olympics.  Out of no where he says "I can see where Isreal is coming from, Palestine is just asking for what they are getting." (meaning Isreal controlling and confining the Palestinians)  I was confused at first until Michael explained that a group of Palestinians bombed some Olympic games or something like that. I was furious.  Where do you get off saying that because a MINORITY group commited an atrocious crime that we need to lump them all together because they "are asking for it".  I said as much to him.  I also informed him that the Americans have terrorists (OK city bombing anyone?).  So all us Americans deserve the same treatment as the Palestinians are getting.  I'll admit that Palestine has violence.  But so does EVERY country.  There are Isreali violence too against the Palestinians. 

He responded that "It still doesn't give them a right to murder.  Waleed's  (a palestinian friend of my Fiances family) people are getting what they deserve."  That set me off even more.  He put our friend Waleed in with terrorists.  Waleed who is one of the most generous people I know in with murderous evil people. 

I lost my temper at this point.  I said that this isn't a perfect world.  If it was murder wouldn't exsist.  But this isn't a perfect world and its something we have to live with.  Is it right? no. of course not.  Can we stop it all? no.  Should we punish and entire group of people and lump the innocents in with the murders? HELL NO!  But i guess according to him the slaves deserved it as well as the Jews.  That all muslims deserve to be victims of hate crimes because of 9/11.

He ignored me after that.  but i just needed to vent about this.  it just irritates me how ignorant people can me.  Oh and his own father is muslim.  grrr...
