My house is falling apart...AGAIN!

Seriously, I think I must have been a pretty crappy person in my former life because my house keeps falling apart! I dont understand how a 4 year old house could fall apart as quickly as mine has. I am on my fourth repairman this week. First, my AC went out on Sunday morning. I called the AC repair man on Monday and he told me he would be out by noon. Noon came and went and still no repair man. I called again at 3 and it seems he forgot, lost, didn't remember that he was supposed to come to my house. Needless to say, he finally showed up on Tuesday morning. A MINOR and simple problem turned into me paying him 150 bucks forabout 5 minutes worth of work. (Clearly teaching is NOT the way to go.) Next, my telephone line was super static-y and it turns out my phone wires were struck by lightening and were basically fried. Luckily, that one was free! Next, my carpet is on its last leg from two little boys who shall remain nameless constantly dropping their juice and snacks into the carpet. They somehow learned the "if it falls onto the carpet smush it in with your foot" technique from their father. I'm tired of spending 300 bucks just to have my small living room and carpeted steps steam cleaned because it goes back to being dirty within two days. Then again, the previous owner of our house didn't have children so I'm sure selecting off white carpeting sounded like a great idea. TOO BAD IT DOESNT WORK WITH TODDLERS!!! I'd love to put down hardwoods but since my kids are clumsy, I foresee too many trips to the ER for stitches. The carpet guy was nice enough and thats going to set me back some but I think its worth it in the long run. Lastly, my downstairs toilet is leaking. I had the same problem a few months back and the roto rooter guy came and fixed it. My only problem is that he didn't charge me for it so it's not under warranty so I have to pay them for the second trip out here. Dear Betty from Roto-Rooter and I exchanged "words" over the phone and my Jersey accent was quick to come out. In her words "obviously you aren't from here." Well no DUH because where I come from, houses are built better!!
