When our adopted daughter, Angel-Leah was still our foster child, the bane of her life was that CPS would not let her jump on the trampoline! So once she was adopted, we got her a trampoline for an adoption present. Seven of my 10 children still live at home, and they have all enjoyed it (except the baby, of course, who isn't 'quite' adopted yet!!
Anyway, last Friday, I had surgery to have two wisdom teeth cut out. I had complications, a dry socket, and also something called trivischems?? My jaw spasmed and clenched, and it doesn't want to unclench, causing me a LOT of pain, and making it very, very hard to eat. I've lost several pounds just in a weeks time.
Yesterday, I was so tired of being sick and dizzy, both from the pain and the not eating, so I rubbed tea tree oil on my gum all afternoon, and by evening, the pain had eased enough that I could open my mouth just enough to eat a few bites of chicken, probably the most I had had at one time in a week. It revived me enough to go outside and fix a hole in the dog pen.
While I was out there, I heard my 11 year old, my youngest bio child, crying "Oh, Mommy, mommy! My arm!" I knew from the sound of her voice it was bad, and I came running out of the pen, to be met by my 17 year old son, telling me her arm was broken!
Sure enough!! No doubt! I put her right in the car, got my stuff, and off we went to the emergancy room. Poor little girl, I don't know which was worse, the pain or the fear. But we got it taken care of, and things are better this morning.
Praise the Lord for the adrenaline he gives sick moms when they need to be strong! And praise God for giving the doctors the knowledge to help my little girl get through this with a minimum of pain!
Here's a picture of her, just as she was waking up from the medicine:

Poor thing. I hope she has a quick recovery. Can you forge my name on the cool pink cast?
Oh, that's awful! What a hard week for you and your family! Glad to hear she's a little better today! How long does that cast have to stay on?
aww!!! she's in my prayers for sure. i'm sure she'll have a fast recovery...it's amazing how children bounce back. and her cast is really cool!!
We will be praying for her recovery and that God will heal quickly. Our foster son broke his wrist in July...his cast was bright blue and he had 9 stitches...I had the flu, but god just fills ya with strength in those moments. Thank goodness God is on our side always!
Oh Carla! First I'm mortified for your jaw pain! There's hardly anything worse than dry socket! And second I must say I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks to grab the camera before leaving the drive way!

Poor little thing. I'm glad she is okay.
God sure is good isn't he? He always gives us the strength and courage to do what we need to do as mothers.
