Giving your children a financial education....hmmmm...now what does that mean?

That's about what I used to think, probably because I wasn't taught "financial talk" when I was growing up.

You know we only "teach" what we "know" ourselves!

I just posted a video on my page that I hope you guys will watch. It's basically me, my awesome hubby, and my two sweethearts, Hannah & Gage. It's just us at home on a Sunday afternoon playing our favorite board game, Cashflow by the author of "Rich Dad Poor Dad", by Robert Kiyosaki.

Did we always have this game around the house...heck no!  Only within the past couple of years have we gotten a "clue"!

Our extent of giving our children a "financial education" was teaching them to save some of their money from birthdays or allowance, not spending it all on the "claw machine" at the local pizza place, and giving some to the lady ringing the Salvation Army bell outside of Wal-mart.

But like I said about 3 years ago, that all started changing.  We started reading, rather than watching T.V....and it changed our life!

It was called "The Secrets of a Millionaire's Mind" by T. Harv Eker.

After reading the book, we went to his $97 3 day seminar...and let me tell you..it was worth thousands!

Between it and the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki, our whole lives have changed!

I strongly enourage you to check out both books.  I know you can get Robert's book at most libraries.  It will change the way you think FOREVER!

So back to the kids...my husband and I are determined that our children will know how to "make money", and no I don't mean by going to school and getting a good J.O.B. !!! In fact I'll say it and say it again...I don't want my kids to ever just get a J.O.B.!

More about that in another post....as for now we're going to continue to educate them, while having some fun and family time!

How right you are - we can only teach our children what we know ourselves.  Good for you!
