Last friday my head gasket blew on my car, so my mother in law gave us the money to get another car. well we went and got it, test drove it, ran fine. on the way home the transmission blew and the guy won't give us our money back. i don't know what to do, we live in the county so there is no way to take a bus or anything.

there is a lemon law each state varies you might want to look into it
I was just going to say there is the lemon law....if something happens withing 30days.... I would be very upset too. praying this works out for you.
in my state it says you have to have it repaired 4 times before i can get him on it, which i think is stupid, so off to the junkyard it goes.

OMG I would be upset too! I wonder if there is some way you can prove that while fixing the head gasket the mechanic somehow damaged the transmission or something like that so you could get your money back. I would NOT use them again and I would tell them that you are going to spread the word about how they handle their business to everyone you know.
