Question: Should airplanes have a separate "family section"?

Options:

Definately! I'd feel more comfortable in an area where there are other kids and I'm not getting any dirty looks...

Absolutely Not! Why should I have to move? Kids make noise; that's what they do. Get over it!

Don't know...

I read an article today that really intrigued me. The article brings up the idea of a separate family friendly section on planes. I've heard all these stories of women being kicked off planes because of fussy children recently, and I can just see it happening to my family. Though it mentions that this is unlikely to become a reality, I really like the idea.  Does anyone agree? I'd love to hear your thoughts!  =)

Not on the airplane, i don't think people have to circle out a section as family friendly. It is the parents responsility to keep their children under control, and if it means using some over counter drug then use it.

I would have loved to have a family friendly section on an airplane!! I have so many stories of flying with my ds that we ended up driving last time we wnet home for vacation!

I stay after my kids, especially in public, but he is a different breed and is very hard to control in such a tight space! I think having all the kids together is a good idea...and i don't see how anyone would have to move...they could sell the tickets so that if you are flying with young kids you get offered certain tickets...

It really irritates me that airlines think they have any right kicking a woman off a flight just because her child is being fussy. You know what, she PAID for her ticket just like any of the other passengers. If they pulled that crap on me, I'd be demanding a full refund! I have no patience for people who allow fussy children to annoy them. They seem to forget they were once little, and I'm sure they got fussy, annoying their fair share of others too. People didn't used to be so frickin' rude! They tolerated normal noisiness of children. People are so selfish and think they're oh so important. La ti frickin dah! Get over yourselves already!

Let your child fuss. We have to put up with adults kicking the back of our seats, farting, coughing, sneezing, smacking their gum, eating with their mouth open making piggish noises, and snoring. It's not going to make their world stop revolving on its axis if they have to put up with a fussy child for a while. Where's the "tolerance" everybody is always demanding?

OK, off my soapbox now.

While I wish the world was more tolerant of kids, I also wish parents wouldn't their children be out of control. As a parent though I do know that there are times when you just can't help how your child is. So I think a family section would be a good compromise.

I think a family section would take a lot of the stress out of traveling with family.
