I've been thinking about all the things I'm going to need/want for this new baby and all the things I could have done without. This is more or less just a personal little list so probably not interesting to anyone but me. I figure I should write it down though before I get real pregnancy brain :)
- A CRIB- NECCESSARY- We need a new one as we sold the old one to make room for the toddler bed. I don't want a convertible crib though. Been there, done that and it was so unnecessary! Also having it with the changing table attached made it really hard to find a space for it.
- CHANGING TABLE- UNECCESSARY- I ended up changing her butt on the couch, a blanket, a bed, or the floor more often than anything.
- BABY TUB- NECCESSARY- Sold the last two to make room, also didn't really care for the ones that I had. Maybe someone can make me some recommendations on baby tubs.
- SWING- WANT- I didn't have one for Xylia but I wanted one SOOOOO bad.
- BOUNCER- UNDECIDED- I did have one for Xylia and it was a life saver but I imagine a swing would take the place of the bouncer.
- A BASSINETT- WANT- I always wanted a bassinett but didn't get one for my first baby. I know they are pretty useless after a month or 2 but dang it I want one!
- A WRAP- NECCESSARY- I only wish I would have gotten one sooner with my first. I have made 3 already so I'm set in that department :)
- 8 BILLION RATTLES, SHAKERS, AND LITTLE TOYS- UNECCESSARY- 4 or 5 maybe but I still have box after box of little infant toys she never played with.
This is only a partial list so far. I have to get ready to go to an appointment so I'm cutting it short. If anyone has any suggestions for neccessary or uneccessary thing feel free to comment!

Wendy I can give you a tub. And its the only none pink item I have so its ok if you have a boy!
I agree with the swing/bouncer choice, one of the other will work. Our swing was called a convertible swing and you could take the chair part out and use it as an infant stationary seat, a toddler rocker chair or put it in the frame and it was a swing. They sell them at Babies R Us. Hands down the most useful baby item we have ever owned. Even now, my 2 year old uses the toddler rocker and the baby still crawls over to it and wants to sit in the swing.
i had a bassinette with both of my sons and i didnt use it much.... what i am doing now seems like a WAY EASIER option... i have taken one side of the crib down (to make it a 3 sided crib) and pushed my bed RIGHT up against it so it cant move. that way Orion still has his own space, but we can still co sleep.

just be sure that your mattress and the crib mattress are at the same height
Pack N Play- Need! Especially for trips. Most pack N plays can be used for a bassinet too, at least ours did.
our pack and play is the big square one lol. Xylia hated it and I almost NEVER used it :) Maybe this one will like it better
wyatt and I opted for a play yard instead of a bassinett. They're portable, have a little changing area you can take off and have a higher setting for little babies. Thats what chloe is going to sleep in in our room for the first couple months i think

i never used the bathtub. i thought i would, but i never did. i bathed her in the sink, or more often than not i got in the tub with her. but the tub i had, i liked. the plug turned white if that water was too hot, it had the sling for a newborn (which they literally use for like 3 weeks) and you could lay them down from one (infant) end and sit them up from the other (toddler). it was only $20 at Shopko. and i agree with the changing table. i use it more now that she is older than i did when she was a newborn. after being up all night it was easier to change her where ever my ass was planted, usually the couch.
