we are in the hospital and ashley is still awake. we were called with the news there was a kidney for her just after 6 p.m. today. we were in such disarray, we left the house with the stove on and backed into the garbage can on our way out. she has been through a lot tonight - more than 4 needle sticks, x rays, and ekgs. we have met with her surgeon, gotten some information about the teenager who was her donor (deceased). i have just taken a shower, and julie is lying in bed with ash watching the olympics. my mom and two brothers are on the way and will be here in the morning. we will be in picu for several days afterward, and i don't know when i will be updating next. i will put my faith in beth to keep everyone updated, as i will keep in touch with her by phone. thank you for all your prayers and support. they have worked! you all are great!

You are in for a long haul, my dear. But it is absolutely WORTH it. And I want you to know: Ashley knows she is loved and angels will surround her and God will be her comfort. She will not remember the needles - she will remember the love. Hold on to that.
I'm in tears. I'm so grateful that your beautiful little girl is getting a second... third chance at life. Thank God for the parents who lost their child but still found a way to honor his/her life by giving Ashley what she needs.
My heart is with all of you today.
Just checking in....praying for you as Ashley comes out of surgery...((hugs))
Oh, honey, I'm so overcome with joy and anxiousness (I think I made up a word) for you guys! I know the surgery's over now, and my heart is with you during her recovery. I'm not religious AT ALL, but "Thank God" is the only thing that comes to my mind.
My prayers are with you and Ashley, with the help of GOD she will recover quickly. I am so glad to hear that she got the transplant she needed. This is my first time checking out her page. My daughter whent through 3 surgeries all before her first birthday... the last one just last month. My heart goes out to you and your fam.
Give Ashley a hug and know my prayers are with you, Love
