There was a man who had this great idea. So, He took some time and thought it through and decided on how He was going to accomplish this idea. "I will spare no expense. I will do the best the I can without quiting until the project is complete." So, He started building and designing, creating and fashion this idea of His. It was coming along beautifully. Of course, it was impossible to tell what it was until the idea was finished. He worked diligently, non stop for 6 straight days. HIs work was majestic! It was wonderful! There was nothing like it, nor would there be anything like it. HIs idea was so involved, that people would be in awe of His work forever. "This is great! They will really enjoy this! This idea is so beautiful and complete, they will never want for anything else!" Finally, on day 7, He rested from his diligent labor.

Can you guess who this story is talking about? That's right! It's God. The idea, is the world. The labor is Creation. There are three lessons that we can gleen from this wonderful story that is often overlooked. After all, we aren't Sunday School kids anymore! Right?

1. This world is so intricate, delicate, majestic, awesome, and impossible for man to duplicate! God is an awesome God! He is so perfect and the world He created is (or was) perfect too.

2. This is the first lesson in diligence in the Bible. Most people don't even recognize this lesson when reading about Creation. But, God did the best that He could. He was so creative with the world. He created it with so many colors and beauties, so many different kinds of animals, birds, fish, and even bugs! He could have made this world black and white and nobody would have criticized it. He could rested inbetween days of Creation. But, He didn't. He worked and worked until the job was finished. He could have done a ho-hum job, but He didn't. He did the best that He could.

3. He did the work for someone else. God may have created human beings for His glory to worship Him and walk with Him, but he created the world for us. How many of us can claim that? How many of us do our work for other people? I dare say that most of us do our daily chores for ourselves and our own benefit. We may get paid for it. We may do it so we won't get in trouble. But, you know? God did the best He could and created a majestic and awesome universe for you and me! That is a great lesson that we all need to learn.

So, what can you learn from this? First of all, always glorify God when you look at this great universe He created. It's His genius that made it look so cool. Secondly, always work diligently until the job is finished. After all, that is what God did. And thirdly, when you are doing your household duties, don't do them for your sake, try working for the good of your husband and your children. Try working hard for their happiness. Most of us clean the house because we hate seeing it dirty. But, what about our husbands? Do we clean the house and do an above and beyond job to please him? Why not go the extra mile and make your kid's bed on a Monday morning when they feel too lazy to do it themselves? I think we can learn a lot from God and His actions in this story. We just need to put aside our pride and humble ourselves before the perfect example set forth from our Holy God.
