I have had it with my first daughter. It is not a big deal. The doctors just give you a few bags of antibiotics through your IV before your baby is born. I had no complications. They are few and far between these days. Most moms are aware of it if they have it and the doctors take that precaution now these days..
okay baby #2 I had it. But he came fast and the nurses couldn't get their heads out of their butts and give me the IV bag of antibiotics. He was fine but has RSV at 2 months. this is my autistic son.
Baby #3, I had it too. Now this time I went in EARLY at one pm, jerks wanted to send me home! Hello, I have GBS (group b strep) and want my IV antibiotics and an epidural. Finally they gave them too me and I sat around pain free watching tv till 9pm until I gave birth. He was healthy, no problems.
So If you do have it, just go in early! Remember the name of the antibiotics the Dr told you to get so the staff can give it to you, and then wait around for 4 hours for it to be in your system.

It is an infection in the birth canal that is treated by getting antibiotics during delivery, and if your water breaks they will also give the baby antibiotics when he/she is born. They swab the area @ about 36 weeks to see if you have it and then they can treat it. I had this infection with my oldest daughter, Sami, I was not tested and she passed away at 4 days old from Strep B meningitis. So because of this as a precaution I am treated with antiboitics with every pregnancy. I hope this helps and let me know if you need any more info. I wish you a healthy pregnancy, delivery, and healthy baby.
