As some of you may know I was selected by cafemom and learning curve to try the true fit convertible car seat and to write a review on it, so without further ado, here is my review.
I loved the seat from the second i opened the box. It's very soft and has a lot of padding, it's also very sturdy feeling, yes it is slightly heavy, but not much more so then my old car seat. I did have some difficultly installing the seat, I love the locking clips that are on the seat, but with the way the seat belt is on my car is(it's a 97 Subaru legacy, and doesn't have latch) it makes it a little hard, the seat belt is not a retractable seat belt, which would normally make it easier, but with this seat belt the end of the slack in the belt has a plastic ring attracting it to the main belt and it kept getting in the way of the locking clips(it's a little hard to explain), and then the other problem i had was with the seat belt clip part, it was too long and i had to twist(i asked a car seat safty tech if that was safe and it is) it to shorten it so it would not get in the way of the locking clip. The final problem i had with the install is the fact that you have to unsnap the car seat cover to run the seat belt through, and after you have the seat belt as tight as it sould be there isn't enough room to stick you hand down and snap the cover back on, so i ended up just pushing it between the the seat and car seat.
Overall I love this seat, it's so much nicer then my old one, and i love the fact that it rear faces to 35lbs, although at a year my son is already 25ish lbs so i don't know that it will be terribly long before he reaches the 35lb limit, but at least then he will be in a 5pt harness until 65lbs, i was planing on waiting until my son's old car seat expired in 2010 or he outgrew it and then get one with a high forward facing limit, but i am so glad that i got this chance to get this car seat because i feel that he is so much safer in it, the install is so tight i can hardly budge the seat.
Thank you so much cafemom and learning curve.

It looks pretty neat and I like that it grows with the child. My question is how did you get picked to review one? Did you join a special group?
