I've gotten a little more laid back about my weight loss efforts. I'm not being as strict about *what* I eat, as long as I don't eat *too much.* The other night, when we didn't have power, we went to Pizzeria Uno. We took a lot of the food home, but I did get to eat pizza and it was yum! :-) I have just been conscious about what I eat every day, and make an effort to eat more salads, veggies, and things with more protein rather than just carbohydrates. But I'm not avoiding all carbos. I think that denying myself carbos would be counterproductive, because I'm more likely to crave it later on. When we went to the birthday party of a friend of my DD's, I even had a small piece of birthday cake! I figure that's OK...as long as that's all I eat. In the past, if it was good bday cake, I'd eat a second piece! LOL These days, I've kind of lost my taste for a lot of sweets, but if I feel like I need something sweet, I'll have one Andes Mint and I'm happy.
As far as working out, I'm not quite as religious about working out every day, but I still make sure I do something at least 5 days a week. I also just signed up for a Cardio (ice) Skating class! I'm so excited because I love to skate, and now I'm learning ways of making my skate time more efficient for cardio! I love it! Amazon.com had a sale on workout videos, and I bought 6 of them for $30! Two of them I hope I can do with my girls for fun--it's Hula workouts!
Anyhow, since my last update, I've lost almost another 5 pounds, so since I started, I've almost lost 15 pounds! I'm so excited! I totally what people say about weight loss--it's a change in LIFESTYLE not just a DIET! I feel so much healthier, and my clothes are fitting better too! (That was my goal to begin with--I didn't have the $$ to buy a new wardrobe, so I really needed to drop to pounds to fit into the clothes that I have)!
OK...another 2 pounds or so and I'll be at my 10% goal. I'm confident enough now that I know I'll make the next one too!
