I'm 25 weeks pregnant and have the WORST heartburn. It's constant and keeping me up at night. Any advice on what helps....besides TUMS?

Apr. 5, 2007 at 8:32 PM Good luck. Tums works for a split second I swear. Prop your self up,watch what you eat..............honestly nothing worked for me, I think that had to be the worst part of being pregnant.

Apr. 5, 2007 at 8:33 PM Hummm, I wonder if your baby is going to have lots of hair... I had a baldie and no heartburn. The nurse asked me if I had had heartburn and when I said now, she said that is somethign that happens with babies with lots of hair:)

Wow, I used to get heartburn from water....seriously!  The only real thing that worked for me that I could use all the time was milk.  You can't really go overboard unless you have a reaction to it and it's good for you and baby!  Hope you feel better!

Apr. 5, 2007 at 8:34 PM    I had bad heartburn towards the end of my pregnancy too.  I should have bought stock in Tums for as much as I used them! I'd say my best advice would be to try and limit food and drinks (no, not those kind of drinks!) a little before you go to bed.  Also, maybe try sleeping with your head slightly elevated.  I know it really stinks to have this issue, so I wish you all the best!

I went through two Sams club size bottles of TUMS. I would drink water and get heart burn!

I tried not to eat before bed, I got acid reflux and thought the acid was going to burn a hole through my throat! It was horrible!
