Apr. 5, 2007 at 9:41 PM my hubby still insists on one! lol.  With those Reese's peanut butter eggs in them.  Age is a state of mind.  If he still enjoys receiving one, then so be it.

I did not vote. Because I think no one is ever too old. My 21 and 16 yr old still get one. And I even still put things in my own basket that I had as a child. I have one for my dh too. And yes I even hide them.

Why should fun things like that have to stop simply cause you are a certain age. Who said that there is an age limit to fun things??

If you want to do it and you know they will enjoy it then I think you should go ahead and give one.

Apr. 5, 2007 at 9:47 PM I don't think there is an age limit.  Kind of like Christmas stockings.  I usually make one for my DH.  (Although he forgets to do one for me.)  Every year my mom makes baskets for anyone who comes to her house for her Easter dinner.  I get one, my kids each get one, she makes one for my DH, my siblings (all over 18) get one, my brother's girlfriend gets one, my mom's friends get one.  There are people who come who are over 50, they get a basket.  So as long as you're willing to do it then go for it.  If he feels its too much of a "little kid thing" then just explain its just a way of giving gifts... think of it as a gift bag but with plastic grass in it.

I didn't vote, either, because I also think no age is too old.  It's a fun tradition!  What's in the basket has changed with age in our family, my parents and future husband don't give me furry stuffed animals anymore (though my daughter will be getting one of those this year), but candy is still great!  We can use great chocolate at any age!

Apr. 5, 2007 at 9:52 PM I don't think anyone ever too old. LOL My BF was still getting them from his family at age 26 when I was pregnant with our first!

Apr. 5, 2007 at 9:52 PM I got one when I was like 14 or 15, and it was filled with Teen Spirit, and soaps and toothpaste.  I looked at it, and laughed and told my mom, "Well, I guess the Easter Bunny is trying to tell me something!"

I got one last year and I'm 24. Although my mom said no baskets this year, she was only going to do them for the grandkids

We celebrated Easter last weekend (hubby & I both work this weekend,-such is the life when you work in healthcare...LOL) with our girls 18-12-4.  I believe there is NO cut off age for baskets, because when the kids get older, it's just as fun.  I think my mom got me my last one in my mid-20's.  For my 18 y.o., I got her a sun glasses clip for her car, some candies, a small package of her favorite imported chocolates, her favorite gum, and a whole bag of Starburst Jelly Beans.  She likes the little "nick-nack" touches or "care package" gifts we give her more than candies.  The little girls are getting a 52-count box of crayola sidewalk chalk, jump ropes & some candies.  I even got the 18 y.o. involved in coloring & hunting easter eggs....some holiday celebrations are just for kids of all ages, ya'know???
