I agreed to watch a neighbors kids (newborn and 2) for 25 hours, including 5 hours on Sunday night. Now I can't because the little one is colicky and cried for almost three and a half hours and drove my husband to the edge. I hate feeling like I am baiting and switching, but I can't do that to my family.....
CRAP....
Tell me I'm not a jerk!!

Agreed. I did tell her, and she understood but asked me to give it one more week and if it did not improve she'd keep the baby home on Sundays till he is better. She is going to try mylicon drops with the zantac and see if that helps. She was understanding though, which is nice. My second had colic so I only have good wishes for her.

I would just explain nicely to her that you will give her some time to make other arrangements but it's just not going to work out at your home. If the baby is colicky then that mom should definitely understand! Just tell her that it's disrupting your family and your sorry about the inconvenience. Sorry for that mom though, not that she has to make new arrangements, but that she is dealing with a colicky baby. Every moms nightmare!
