Our country was founded on CHRISTIAN principles. Our country was founded by CHRISTIANS seeking freedom to worship and serve God-not Buddha, not Muhammad, or any other god nor to practice any other religion. Those that believe that Christianity has no place in government should really take a long hard look st the foundation this country was built upon. Now we have self-serving individuals and groups that want to push God the creator and Christ out of everything because it doesn't accept their sinful lifestyles. Ahh, another word people despise-sin. Call it crime or something else and its okay but to call it what it really is and we are "judging" them and putting ourselves on a pedestal. I have said many times that I am not perfect-I am a sinner-but I know that Christ died for all of us and only through his blood I am saved from my sins. That doesn't mean I can just go out and do whatever I want. As a Christian I fail daily-in little things, big things-but through the grace of God I can repent and do my best to improve my life the next day.
I can honestly say I am not positive who I will be voting for this year. I know that I am not voting for Obama. McCain isn't much better. Our only hope is that Christians call upon God. His Word says, 2Ch 7:14" if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Comments:
First Amendment of the United States Constitution = "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Furthermore....
Lambert (2003) has examined the religious affiliations and beliefs of the "Founding Fathers." Some of the 1787 delegates had no affiliation. The others were Protestants except for three Roman Catholics: C. Carroll, D. Carroll, and Fitzsimons. Among the Protestants delegates to the Constitutional Convention, 28 were Episcopalian, eight were Presbyterians, seven were Congregationalists, two were Lutherans, two were Dutch Reformed, and two were Methodists. The total number being 49. Some of the more prominent Founding Fathers were anti-clerical or vocal about their opposition to organized religion, such as Jefferson.
I should have made my self a bit more clear-its not about RELIGION-its about a relationship with Christ. Christianity to me isn't so much a religion-my religion is Southern Baptist. Christianity is in reference to those who profess Christ-whether they be Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist or Lutheran. While religion is not THE basis for our constitution, it is THE reason for our constitution. The consititution says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." So understanding that, a person's religion is supposed to be left out of government dealings as well as the government's dealings should not interfere with a person's religion. Yet, we find more and more that those who object to Christianity are doing all they can to silence Christians.

Our country was founded on the principal of freedom of religion - the desire of the people to be able to worship in any way they saw fit. This country began in the name of freedom, not christianity.
