I must be on a caffeine high....
Several times I've had to stop myself from writing this journal 'cause it's too corny... but this morning I couldn't help myslef. (click on the back arrow now, or puke.)
I LOVE MY MEDLEY OF FRIENDS:
I've got a weight loss buddy. We've agreed to motivate each other, even if just online.
A group of pumpkin growing buddies. So excited!
A book club. Here's to making me read books that I wouldn't pick on my own!
A teacher who's got so much info I will be racking her brain.
A goofball.... I like to go to her page for a laugh, esp. when I'm in a slump. She's my spiritual healer.
A Christian, with whom I formed an unlikely friendship. Really, we had a heated debate on her post! But I wanted to learn to tolerate, so... I invited her and she accepted. She's very wise and loving. Even though we have opposite views we respect each other. Isn't that special?
There are friends I go out drinking and karaoking with... only CM 'cause I wouldn't do it in real life, haha! There are those I don't hear from much.... some are busy, some I wonder if they're okay. There are those I've recently met.... and I'm looking forward to knowing them more.
My point: People I have some kind of connection with are hard to find. Few have already passed, or moved far away--we "may" keep in touch via email. But on CM, I've found people who are always there. It's like they live next door to me! I can join groups with people who share the same interest. Or I can peak at journals--the funny, the sad, and the supportive (I now "try" to avoid those that will piss me off). This is why CM is so addicting!
So there....
Comments:
I agree with ya girl, I feel the exact same way sometimes. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have CM to come to everyday. It is so weird, I know. You meet all kinds of people all over the world and talk to them from your own computer. But, I like it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts mama!! You are awesome. Keep smiling.![]()
That's exactly why it's so addicting. You find friends you would probably never find in RL. One of the best people I've EVER "met" lives in Alaska and I found her here. How would I have found her otherwise. She's strong and supportive, we lift each other up when we're down. She's a great friend. I have friends from so many different parts of the country, and I wouldn't want to lose a single one of them!
Yup!~ I feel the same way and I love Karaoking with you. I don't care if you sing in tune or if it's like listening to the kids in the shower. BTW- what song did you sing? I sang Realize by Colbie Caillet. I am dancing to that song at my wedding and I will be singing it to the man I love and realized on my own!!!
"You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, dig in the dancing queen......"

Awww....that was so sweet....a bit pukey (just kidding). Hmmm.....which one am I?!?!?! Seriously though, isn't it nice to have friends all over through CM? It's almost like a little visit in your kitchen every day.
