So I'm finally getting around to the update I've been brewing.... ..
Sunday's weigh-in was 199. Gotta get back on that wagon, only having 4 days every other week when I can comfortably exercise here. I want to look into the YMCA nearby, I hear they have a 6 a.m. aerobics class. That would work out with every day's schedules!
The kids started school back on Aug. 13... I do have pictures from the first day, just haven't dumped the camera yet. I've been spending the days cleaning their room (and the rest of the house!) and getting rid of unnecessary and unneeded items and clothes. I need to do that a few times before I get to working outside the house, so I want this place easier to keep up with by that time. I will get their pictures up soon! Both kids have been doing well socially, Clare adjusted fine within a few days and loves it now. She already has a best friend! JT's glad to be seeing his school friends again, but is already struggling a bit with the math. (If anyone has any website suggestions, toss 'em to me! I'm looking at all the free homeschool curricula I can find already!) It's still very early in the year. It's been very quiet around here when they're at school and Ira's at work (last week). And even then I can't help but stay up and get some serious cleaning done.... how sad is that?!? LOL But next week I have some Netflix movies coming that I'm going to watch alone (like Steel Magnolias - I know no one would watch it with me anyway!), and I may even treat myself to a Calgon bath one day. We'll see what happens!
The other news, if you noticed my thought bubble the other day, is that I'm looking into college. I half-heartedly considered it right after high school, but since I got pregnant right before visiting a few schools, I just gave up for the time being. Now that my baby is in Kindergarten, I have a little time and can look into it again. I've always wanted to work with animals in some capacity - in and right out of high school I worked in a pet food/live animal store, a few years after that I worked the front desk in a veterinary office. Doing that, I realized that I would absolutely be happy to be a vet! Now that I know how much schooling is involved (and feeling 'too old' besides) I'm thinking Vet Tech. That's still a lot of schooling (and money - yikes) yet not quite as much of either than all-out Veterinarian. With my allergies to fur, I still am leaning more toward the herpetologic side of it. I like lizards anyway :-) I'd have to get myself accustomed to snakes though... they still give me the willies ::shudder::
But that is all up in the air, and dependent on Ira's passing the LSAT in October and where - geographically - that could take us in the future. The closest vet tech school to us here is Morehead. There is an equine center on campus here, but even horses make me sneezy and itchy! I did take the first step yesterday and sent for my high school transcript/test scores. Once I get that I'll figure out more which direction I'll go, and when.
So that's the news from around here! Have a great week!

'Jersey Shore' Recap: JWOWW's Dress Takes the Trashy Cake
YAY!!!!! Vet tech sounds like fun! Although I think of hugging puppies all day, which is quite different than lizards and snakes! LOL I'm so excited for you!
Good luck with the transcript! Chuck went in to get his and they didn't have any records for him! It turned out they had all his old paper records, but they never got put into the new system. Poor guy about had a heart attack!
