So. Mason has decided he wants to join the scouts. That's GREAT! I'm happy for him. So on Monday, I tell Jeff there is a meeting about it on Tuesday (last night). He tells me he can't go, because he's got a meeting. He was recently elected as the Republican Party GOP Committeeman for our district (or whatever it's called). He says he told me about the meeting, but I SWEAR he didn't. So I said ok, that's fine. I'll take him to the meeting. He suggests that he'll take Wyatt with him, because it's supposed to be like a 10 minute meeting plus if he has Wyatt they can't really ask him to stick around and phone bank (for whatever they do). Off to our respective meetings we go. Him with Wyatt in tow and me with Mason and Mini-moo. When he returns home 1 hour and 30 minutes later (yeah, it was SUPPOSED to be a 10 minute meeting. *sheesh*) he recounts a bit of his meeting. I asked how Wyatt was and he said for the first 45 minutes he was great (bravo for Wyatt, he's usually bored MUCH quicker than that.), but that he started getting fidgety after a while (who can blame him really, it was SUPPOSED to be a 10 minute meeting, so Jeff didn't really take anything for him to do.)
Let me back up here for a minute. When we went to Mason's back to school night, Wyatt got VERY upset when it was time to leave, because he REALLY wants to go to school. So he and I agreed that we wold do some home school until next year. I've bought some workbooks and such that I'm going to copy so I can reuse the boooks. She he's happy, he's going to be homeschooled. This was a thought we had for Mason last year. I wasn't sure if I wanted him in public school (and after my friend ShaunnaMichelle's experience, I am again unsure.) and had considered homeschooling. But I realized that I don't have the patience for true home schooling. I would LOVE the boys to be home schooled by someone else.*lol*
Anyway, back to the committeeman meeting.....They're asking for volunteers for different things....does anyone do this or that, involved in this or that thing. And then they asked if anyone was homeschooling.....Wyatt ran away from Jeff, to the front of the room and said "I'm going to home school, I"LL DO IT!!" *lol* Poor Jeff was embarrassed and trying desperately to get Wyatt back to his seat. Wyatt just knew that he was going to home school and he should be able to do whatever it was they wanted.
So, apparently not only is my husband a republican committeeman, but my son is too, and he's volunteering to head up some committee regarding homeschooling. Oh the things my kids do!
Comments:
LOL, that is funny. I hope Wyatt gets his committe off the ground LOL. Good luck with the scouts, I hope Mason picks a good one!
YAY for Scouting! Just don't get sucked into being Den Mother. Do. Not. Do it.
Well, as a 1st grader "Tiger Cub" they have to have a parent at every function, and I got Jeff to agree to be a den leader or whatever, but I will NOT! *lol*
How is little Wyatt going to handle all his committee responsibilities? LOL
Not sure how Wyatt is going to handle all those responsibilities, I guess he'll have to have his mommy help him....NO WAIT! That's me, he's gonna have to resign!

Oh, and we didn't sign Mason up for Scouts because I wanted to talk to Jeff about which den/pack/communist country (ok, so I'm just joking about the communist country) to join. But we're going to a meeting next Tuesday. We both know about it, and it's on the calendar!
