Im soundly sleeping when I hear a big CRASH wake me up lightly I just figured it was a few plates or something broken that the cats knocked off the counter or something stupid like that.  DH gets up to go clean whatever up and then I hear "JEESSSSIIII" and "AH SH*T" and I get kind of mad and think to myself I bet DH's brother broke my coffee table one of the glass things in it.  So I get dressed and mind you its 2:30 AM!  I go downstairs and see glass shatter EVERYWHERE.  Im not kidding.  See our living room and dining room are back to back and we have a huge mirror covering the whole dining room wall or had I should say.  OMG it fell and broke everywhere  I mean mainly in my dining room and a little on the couch.  The good thing is our downstairs is concrete and we just have rugs in the living room and dining room so it wasnt THAT hard to clean up it was all the picking up individual shards of glass that took forever.  So here I am 3 hours later finally laying back in bed.  We picked up all of the glass and then I swept a million times and then mopped and swept some more and vacuumed all the carpet and chair cushions to our table I basically did the whole downstairs.  UGH Thats all I can say I should have taken a picture looking back now it was such a horrible mess LOL. It was put up horribly by whoever too and we never checked before just assumed it was all good.  By the way does anyone know how to get tar off the wall?  Thank goodness Jeremys brother didnt get hurt (he stays up all hours of the night playing games in the living room and hes 14 visiting from NY).  Thank goodness one of the cats woke jeremy up to otherwise he probably would have ignored it lol.  Im scared to death that we may have missed something and Rilee wil step on something.  So later this morning when we have to get up the whole downstairs is off limits until I can do a fifty over on everything when DH gets home from work lol  Its going to be a long day!  Im off to bed again I just HAD to write about this disaster!

Aug. 28, 2008 at 1:26 PM Wow! That really bites. At least it was in the middle of the night when no one was walking by it. Try taking a few pieces of wide tape(masking, packing, etc) and a piece of cardboard(sticky side down to catch the shards) and skimming the floor with it to pick up the tiny pieces. That is what we did when a picture frame busted in our kitchen. Worked pretty good, ghetto, but it worked :)
