We had soccer tournaments this week and they went pretty awesome. We ended in 2nd place, which I think the whole team accepted because we played an outstanding game.  We came into the tournament playing a team that was our crutch. The team is a very physical team, one of the kids will do anything to frustrate our kids. Their goalie is amazing and pretty much unstoppable.  They had beat us twice before and both times it was a shut out. Our team is amazing also, it just got to their heads. They are 11-14 yr olds and at that age you get down on yourselves. We worked it out and won on Thrusday night. We went into the game tonight having to win 2 games, because that team was undefeated in the tournament. We had one lost to them on Wednesday night.  We played like we owned the field. They got the first point, we worked it out and didn't give up . We made a "team" play and our awesome forward "kt" was their for the crash and scored her first point ever playing for us!! I about started crying right then and there. She has played on our teams for about 3 yrs now and every yr. she has a close shoot, but no deal. She's had many assist, which is just as good. Our daughter Olivia had some fine games this week! She went for a break-out run the other night and would of scored but the game was over before she got the shoot. She didn't realize when Ray told her to hurry that it was that close to the end. Anyways, it ended in a 2-2 tie game, went into 5min overtime with no score and then to a shoot-out! Both first five heaps shot and it ended in 1-1. Then the second five shoot ended in 1-1, then it came to our last five and they scored one up on us so the end score was 4-5. It was a good end for the core team who had been with us since they were 11yrs. Liv's first yr on the 11-14 team we won the whole thing and then the two inbetween years were rough, but each year our team improved and then this year we ended the season second. I am happy with them, they left everything they had on the field tonight. It's sad to see the end of this rec. league for Olivia, she has been playing their since Kindergarten. We talked to the director this evening and she might possible try a 15-18yr old league out next year.
