Thank goodness Faye was only a tropical storm

She was bad enough at that. 

After a week, I finally got my internet back thanks to Fayes jaunt by Jacksonville.  Thursday night as she came in our neighbor's tree (about a 50 footer) came down and took out the powerlines.  Then the next day, an 80 foot tree came down in our backyard about 30 feet short of our house.  It wasn't storming at that point, but the ground was so saturated that the roots just simply could not hold up the tree.  The root ball looked like wet sand at the beach it was so soggy.

As a result to all this, we were out of power for 4 full days which was absolutely miserable being 8 months pregnant.  However, I am very thankful that that is the only thing that did happen.  No cars were crushed, the house is fine, and above all, our family is safe. 

Nothing like a four day power outage to make you appreciate the little things though....like hot showers and light.
