First off, I included almost all the little details so it might be kinda graphic sounding. =) just a fair warning.

*don is my DH, daniel is my DS, Steph is my sister*

Well, Thursday morning August 28th, 2008 I woke up to some contractions around 5am. They were pretty painful so I decided to start timing them, they were coming about 6minutes apart. Don had already left for work, he was working days. I decided to tell him about what was going on but not ask him to come home until they had at least been coming for an hour steady. Well they stayed 6min apart but started to get more painful so I tried a couple positions to cope with them, mainly kneeling on all fours on the floor. I still wasn't positive if it was the real deal so I didn't call any family or friends because it was so early in the morning. I tried to play solitaire on the computer but they started to get too painful, so I asked Don to finish up with the boat he was working on at work and head home and I jumped in the tub. When I got in the tub they continued to get worse and I quit timing them because I couldn't remember numbers. It was about 6:15am by then and I told Don he needed to hurry up and called my sissie Steph to wake her up and tell her to start getting ready. By 6:45 I was still in the tub and I started to feel really nauseous and threw up, once I threw up, I knew this was def the real deal because I remembered talking about it in Bradley Classes that when you throw up your getting closer. I also found myself recalling many of the things from my Bradley Class, like I began to make the "sleep face" that we talked about, where I would close my eyes and have my mouth open to concentrate on a contraction. By then it was probably about 7am and I texted Don's step mom in Lafayette to tell her it was def the real deal and head this way along with calling my parents and Don's Aunt. Don still wasn't home, I was coping with the contractions by singing la la la real low. lol. Don probably arrived home around 7:30 and once he got there for some reason everything started going a lot faster, I got out the tub and just stayed kneeled over on the carpet with my butt in the air, my contractions started to double peak and this is when I started to get louder with my moaning. I told don we needed to leave as soon as he got Daniel and everything in the car. He suggested maybe calling an ambulance because he said my contractions were too close, but I told him no. I waited for a little break between a contraction and hurry and walked to the car, I layed the seat back some and turned around to face the back of the car kneeling over the seat. Pretty much as soon as we got out of our neighborhood I started to feel the urge to push, I told don like it felt like I had to pee and poo all at the same time, he told me not to push because he didn't want me to deliver in the car and I said she isn't coming in the car, my water hasn't broken yet. I started pushing because it was uncontrollable, about 5 min later my water broke, in the car! And when I say it broke, it was like a balloon popping. LOL...by now I couldn't be quiet and I couldn't stop moaning/screaming when I was pushing. Daniel was in the back seat the whole time saying momma bow bow and just looking at me. It seemed like the car ride took forever, a cop actually tried to pull us over because Don started driving on the median once my water broke. I almost told Don to just stop at a gas station because I felt like she was going to come out in the car, and I couldn't get in a comfortable position. When we finally got to the birth center and don stopped, I opened the door and kneeled down on the concrete to have a contraction and push, nurses came running out with a wheel chair saying finish the contraction and get in. They had enough time to wheel me to the elevator and when I got in the elevator I threw myself out of the wheelchair and back on the floor to have another contraction. LOL *I bet they thought I was crazy!)...As soon as we got to the room, I literally threw my clothes off and jumped on the bed facing the opposite way with my arms and head hanging off the back while the bed was reclined upward. We arrived at the hospital at 8:30am by the way. I was still pushing and the nurse checked me and told me I was a complete 10cm so they started looking for a doctor on the floor. The nurses were so great encouraging me telling me I was doing great, I told them I was a VBAC and I wanted to do it all natural. They suggested lifting my back up more instead of slouching and they also told me to try to moan deeper instead of high pitched to help with the pain, I used there advice and as soon as I did, her head started to come out. During all this Daniel was still sitting in the room, he kept saying "momma bow bow butt" lol. No one had time to even get to the hospital yet, I didn't think anyone was going to make it. When the doctor got there I decided to turn around and somewhat squat/lay on the bed. She then just started coming out with the pushes, and let me tell you, that whole "ring of fire" with all the burning was very very true for me, when her head was coming out it literally felt like a torch had been lit under my butt and I almost stood up in the bed to get away from it, the doctor had to kinda chaise me up the bed to follow the baby! LOL. She pretty much was coming out as steph was walking through the door, dons mom was supposedly running in and out but I didn't see that and my parents had just got to the hospital. After she came out they handed her directly to me, cleaned her on top of me, don cut the cord, and they started to deliver the placenta. I told them I didn't want Vitamin K shot or eye drops and I didn't even have to argue with them! that totally shocked me they didnt put up a fight... Which yeah that whole no pain after the baby comes out wasn't true for me, because I was still hurting. lol. I held her for about 30-45 then decided to let them clean her better and weigh and measure her, they had to start and IV and give me some pitocin because I was bleeding too much. So that was the ONLY intervention I had except for needing a couple of stiches bc of a small tear on the side. I'm soooo happy with the way things turned out, it was exactly how I wanted and being drug free was an amazing experience I wouldn't trade for anything. Even though I wanted to get to the hospital a little earlier, wasn't planning on labor being that fast and didn't want to be quite that loud and uncontrolled, it was still perfect! Don was an excellend coach, the whole time through the car he kept telling me how good I was doing and that I could do it, even when I screamed for God to help me. lol. All the nurses and even the dr was great (i didn't end up with my doc), they kept telling me how wonderful I was doing compared to when Daniel was born the staff at womans was screaming at me saying "do you want a c-section?" I just can't get over how wonderful Elysia's birth was compared to Daniels. I was able to get up and take a bath within the first hour and then breastfeed her she wasn't too hungry and only ate for about 10min the first time.

Anyway yeah, we welcomed:
Elysia Jeanne' Clark
8/28/08 9:09am
7lbs 7oz and 18.75in long

So yeah, I got my all natural VBAC and All together my labor was about 3 hrs long and I pushed for an hour, much faster than Daniel's 32 hr labor! Later on the nurses told me I sounded like a dinosaur, which was kind of funny. We only stayed in the hospital a little over 24hrs and we have been home since, Elysia is a little piggy, she nurses just about every hr and my milk came in this morning so she is eating even longer each time. She looks a lot like daddy with black hair and dk blue eyes (couldnt believe that either, i thought 4sure she would havd dk brown like me and daniel at birth) and nothing like Daniel did when he was a baby. She has really chubby cheeks! Oh! and by the way her cyst turned out to be nothing and we're about 99.9% sure she doesn't have the bone disease! =) Oh and did I mention Friday morning I got a call from New Country 100.7 and we WON the bedroom set! so thanks to everyone that voted for us! Its been amazing and God has truly blessed us! Well, I think I included everything from her birth, we didn't get too many pictures because we didn't even have time to get anything out the car. Steph got some really graphic pics of her coming out but yeah I'm sure yall don't want to see those, lol. I'll post as many as I can soon! =D

Oh I'm so so happy she's healthy!  I'm glad you had a VBAC, but the part that brought tears to my eyes is that you are pretty sure she's totally healthy!

Congrats Momma, I am so happy you got what you wanted. It is great that it went so well and now you have a beautiful baby girl to show for it. I am also happy that God added to that blessing by not allowing her to have the bone problem. Way to Go!
