We had a nice long 4-day weekend this past weekend, which was EXACTLY what I needed!
We left close to noon on Friday, and pulled our camper to our site in Wikiwa Springs, FL., which is about 30 minutes from Orlando. I still had free 1-day/2park passes to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, so we thought we'd take a day to try out the new Simpsons ride. Woo hoo!
Anyway, we arrived at the parks Sunday morning, about 20 minutes after it opened. We parked in the garage, Alyssa climbed in her stroller, and we proceeded to walk to the Studios side of the park. I was happy to see the majority of the crowd flowing towards the Islands of Adventure gates, instead of our Universal Studios destination.
Anyway, we walked right onto the Simpsons ride! Well, not quite. I had to take Alyssa to the baby swap area, because she's still too short for that ride.
Now, I should say that Back To The Future (which used to be where this ride is) was my favorite, so I went in with some trepidation. It was AWESOME, though! The projection for the simulator was really vividly clear, and the motion of the cars was more fluent than the old ride. My only disappointment was having to ride with a car full of strangers instead of my family, but when Alyssa is a couple of years older, she'll be able to enjoy the ride with me.
Alyssa WAS tall enough to ride her very first rollercoaster, though! It was the Woody Woodpecker coaster, and it had a minimum height of 36", which she barely made, thanks to some thick-soled shoes. LOL! She rode this one twice!

Alyssa also enjoyed the trolley/train in Islands of Adventure Seuss Landing area that travelled some overhead tracks above the park. Minimum height was 34", and although she cleared the minimum height easily, she was measured TWICE each time she rode. (She also rode this ride twice.)
For the rides she was to short to experience, we did baby swap, or I just hung out with her outside the ride as we watched it go by. Here's Alyssa watching The Hulk rollercoaster zoom overhead:
More pictures are posted to my profile, and I will add a better review later, but I wanted to record my impressions before the thrill of our great weekend wore off! Alyssa has been to Universal Studios twice before (May and Sept. of last year), but she seemed to have the most fun this trip.
