Palin said war in Iraq, gas pipeline are God’s will

The war in Iraq is part of God’s plan, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said in June in a speech at her former church.

Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate whose son will deploy to Iraq in a few weeks, told the students that “our national leaders, are sending [the troops] out on a task that is from God.”

Building a natural-gas pipeline is also part of God’s will, she said, according to a video published by the Huffington Post taken from material posted on the website of the Wasilla Assembly of God. Read more.

Earlier, she exhorted the students to pray for pipeline, saying “we can work together to make sure God’s will is done.” She said God wanted to extract natural resources.

Palin attended the church from the time she was 12 until 2002 and she still “maintains a friendship” with the church, the church office told Huffington Post.

****This was provided to me by a friend here in the Cafe.  It is from The Wall Street Journal.  OMG!  This woman is a complete nutter.****

Dahls...

what i'm most afraid of is that she's using religion to explain political issues.
religion SHOULD NOT coexist with politics.
if we allow that to happen, by allowing HER to be VP, we're in some serious trouble.

I totally agree, Dahls.  :(

And McCain is also using his religion to explain some of his political issues as well. No surprise then that he would pick her to be VP. I'm voting Obama

Scary, scary, scary!  I just hope enough American voters don't have their heads where the sun doesn't shine.  We depend on the health of the environment for our own survival.  If these two people win the election, I fear for the future of our nation and our species.  If we do not make radical changes in the way we utilize natural resources, the standard of living we now enjoy will be just an amazing fairy tale to folks several generations down the line.  Go Obama!

sherriet

I read this earlier and it just confirmed that she is a total nutter.  She scares me by herself, but a ticket featuring Mr. & Mrs. (but not married to each other) Religious Right terrifies me.

I hear ya, Sherriet!  *sigh*

Jeang...

Sigh.  She reminds me of Bush with her Christian leanings, and relying on the Lord to make the right decisions.
