My 6 year old daughter was called the "N" word today @ school. How that still happens in 2008 puzzles me. I need advice from other Moms out there as to how to handle this matter.
Comments:
If it was an adult I would ask they be fired...or suspended...and made to take sensitivity training!!!!
If it was a child I would ask to talk to the principal / teacher / students parents to get this resolved so hopefully it never happens again!
It looks like you've received some really good advice so far. I'd like to add if I may; if you continue to create in her a self-worth, she will be just fine. I love what "Explorer3" stated her sons experience. It makes me so happy that he was strong in that situation. There are people, unfortunately who haven't learned to cherish diversity and why it is necessary even in this new era. But, the young will survive if they are strong. You do a great job raising your daughter and as young moms go, my observation is just that. So, keep up the good work honey. Don't let 'em get ya down.

By whom (meaning the age of the person)? And in what context? (Not that it is EVER excusable, but those details might make a difference in deciding how to handle the situation...)
I'm sorry she (and you) are having to deal with such abhorrent ignorance. :-(
