I was having difficulty sleeping Saturday night and i was so exhausted and cranky on Sunday. So i tried to go to sleep early on Sunday night around 10:30-11 pm. Once again i couldnt sleep... i woke up at 1:30 am to go to the bathroom came back in the room and decided to kill some time on the computer. I sat down on the bed and i felt like a heavy discharge. It seemed like alot so i stood up to go to the bathroom again and when i stood up it was just a gush of water. My water broke !!! So i called Charles (Babies Father) and told him he needed to leave work to come get me. We got to the hospital and at around 3:30-4 am and they got me in a room and got me all hooked up and checked me and i was still only dilated 1 cm. My doctor came in at 9 am to check on me and told me she was a little worried because my contractions were the same from the time i got to the hospital to now which was 6 hours later. I really wanted to attempt a VBAC this time so she said she would let me keep laboring and hopefully something would happen soon but if not i knew what would happen. So i started to get really disappointed that i wasn't going to get the birth plan that i wanted but i was staying positive. So at around 2 she came back in and said that it was up to me fully but it had been 12 hours now and i had no progress what so ever. So she left for me and Charles to talk and our nurse came in and she talked with me some about what would happen and she really made me feel better about having a c-section. So we finally decided that that would be what was best for our daughter and went ahead and started getting ready for surgery. 13 hours after my water broke we were in surgery about to meet our daughter. I was very upset about the whole thing but i figured it was for a reason. Our daughter Alyssa Ciara was born Sunday August 31,2008 3:35 pm she was 8lbs 8oz and was 20 inches long. While we were in surgery the doctor actually found a small tear in my old incision and said its a good thing i didnt VBAC because i most likely would have ruptured from it. So after hearing that i was way more pleased with my c-section ! It was actually very different and a much better experience then the last one. I actually got to see my daughter after she was born and after they sewed me up i got to go back to my room with her and hold her right away ! It was so great :) As much as i didnt want another c-section im very glad i had one and i wouldnt change the way anything went. Alex loves his little sister so much and is doing so good with her. Im just so happy to have two happy healthy wonderful children !!!
