I'm brand new to this site and made the mistake of reading a blog about someone who hates what God hates.

As a devout Christian who loves God (not fear God) and celebrate my faith (and not mourn it), I felt compelled to help reassure a fellow Christian that God does not hate, that God loves all, unconditionally.

Also, it was very apparent to me that my fellow Christian was grossly misinformed about the tradition and history behind Halloween.  In the interest of sharing information, I attempted to inform her that Halloween has nothing to do with the devil or evil or anything otherworldly sinister, at least in relation to basic Christian beliefs.

Sadly though, this "christian" deleted all of my comments!  I was only trying to help!  Then she responds with:

Please everyone don't write any more nasty notes,I'm writing this to myself and for others who agree with me.-Thankyou!

My note wasn't nasty; it was never nasty.  It was informative and reassuring that Halloween is a ""safe" holiday to celebrate!  Maybe even carve a jack o'lantern or two to help ward off some of those evil spirits!

Meh.

At least I've already made a new friend here - a PAGAN friend!  I find her to be intelligent, funny and very well-versed on not just her own beliefs, but Christian beliefs as well.  I wish more Christians would take time to learn about Paganism, Judaism, Buddhism, etc., before immediately striking something down as "the devil."

Then again, I am always very leery of anyone who claims to be "close to God".  According to what I've been taught (a believe), we are all equally close to God, as we are all His children.  Including the Pagans.

Bravo and well said.

But be careful, you're likely to be torn apart by the Christian "right" for being BLASPHEMOUS! ;)

That's fine.

When Judgement Day arrives and I watch the hordes of "shiite christians" battling to get into heaven, I'm quite confident that God will be able to sort out the whole mess.

He's done more with less. ;-)

Oh jeez...

O.k. I made that up,Halloween isn't the devils birthday but it kinda makes sense though? We celebrate Jesus's birthday on Christmas!

"Made that up"?  I think there's a lot of things a certain SAHM is making up.  Maybe a little less time on the internet reading hate sites or watching Judge Judy.  Get a life.
