Judging from past journal posts, you might think I'm a McCain supporter, actually I am a Hilary supporter. When Obama won Democratic vote I was faced with choosing between the lesser of two evils. I wasn't sure, at first, who I would vote for. After Obama's choice for vice president, the choice was even harder, but after the past week or so the choice has become clear.

I realize that every politician lies, but to sit there and tell lie after lie after lie, and when the associated press comes out and proves these so claimed 'facts' as lies, they don't even acknowledge it and continue to lie.

I think the final straw was when it came out that Sarah Palin's daughter was pregnant. I have no problem with a young girl being pregnant, if you are capable and ready then there is nothing wrong with that. What I have a problem with is, is the Republican's obvious hypocricy. They sit there and say that it is theirbusiness and no one should be concerned, yet they're past shows that they do not support pregnant teens, and they want to make it harder for them by getting rid of places like Planned Parenthood. 'Don't use birth control because it's evil (don't worry, though, men because you can still use Viagra), but if you get pregnant you're kind of screwed because they only place that you can afford to get proper care is closed.'

Not only this, but McCain's continuous hateful remarks and moves towards women. I don't see how any woman can stand by him when he will take away our right to make important decisions regarding ourselves. I am fully against abortion, for almost every reason, BUT I am not for taking away a woman's right to choose. I think women should be more informed about what they are choosing to do, but I don't think it should be taken away. Also, I think everywoman should have the right to choose to use birth control. It is sick and hypocritical to take away a woman's right to birth control, yet allow for Viagra and other male 'impotency' drugs.

I just hope I'm not around for the fall of the U.S. I think if McCain was voted into office, I would have to leave this country. We can't afford 4 more years of this war.

Thanks for sharing your feelings. I love when people write from their heart.

The video really shows how hypocritical the GOP is when it comes to those so called family values.

I agree with your post whole-heartedly.

The video you posted is one my nineteen-year-old son sent me last night. It clearly shows the hypocracy, which is disgusting.

I am also terrified of what will happen to this country if we get more of the same.  I do NOT believe for an instant that McCain/Palin would bring change.  No, wait.  I think they MAY bring change.  But it would be terrible, terrible, change, bringing us even closer to the theocracy which GW has tried to move us towards.  I love this country, but it is becoming less and less like the United States which I was raised to believe in.  If it continues, I don't know.  At what point is it best to jump ship?  Honestly, this place is starting to scare me.

Hoomom, I feel the same way. Coming from a family where most people were in the military, I grew up being very patriotic. I stood up and said the pledge of allegiance every day I was at school, and truly meant it. I am engaged to an American Hero, and my uncle has been to Iraq twice and Afghanistan once. I love this country, but, since Bush has come to office, I have lost more and more faith in it.

The first time was, okay well in four years we'll have someone new, the second time, I knew something was wrong. Who would vote this idiot back into office? If McCain is voted into office, then I know I am no longer living in the U.S. Unless Obama commits murder, then I don't see how McCain can legally get into office. If he does then I no longer believe that the U.S. has the freedom it once did.

On top of this, I think if McCain were to get into office, he would create a larger problem with our already failing economy. Only a few years of him, and I could see us in a huge depression. I can't stick around for that. Get out while the dollar is still good, is my view right now.

I was more for Hillary than anyone early on, but once it was down to McCain or Obama, there was absolutely no way I could vote red.  I'd be voting against my family, friends, and everything important to me.

This is still America where we have the freedom to vote into office the candidate we feel will do the best job. I believe in the ideals and policies of McCain/Palin. I wasn't very thrilled being left with the decision to have to choose the lesser of two evils, but since McCain has chosen Sarah Palin as his running mate, I've become very excited and can't wait to cast my vote come November.
