Choices are always good. Having the freedom to choose is even better.
However, sometimes there is really such thing as having "too many" options.
For example, if you go into any grocery store, there are always, without fail, no fewer than half a dozen different brands of peanut butter to choose from. I'm not a huge peanut butter fan (unless it's in chocolate!), but why in God's name to there have to be so many different choices? Pricewise, they may vary by only a few cents, ingredients-wise they are all the same.
Of course, each of the different brands have all the different styles: low fat, crunchy, smooth, etc., as well as all the different sizes. There is a good 6' tall by 10' wide section of nothing but peanut butter at the local grocery store.
So why the rant against peanut butter?
I'm feeling kind of the same way here on CM. There's so many groups, journals, people... it's a little overwhelming.
I almost left yesterday after immediately joining, as the very first journal I saw was decreeing "hate" and "God" in the same sentence. But I've made a new buddy out of the ordeal so it's not all bad!
I guess, I'm just a little overwhelmed. I had no idea how big this site is. Now that I know, I think I'm going to need to take some time and get used to it!
At any rate, this is my little ramble for today.
