I had actually already posted this but it fit the theme so I thought I would add it here . . .
I just have to say that I love my husband. He has been working out of town during weekdays and is only home on the weekends. He drives four - five hours every Monday morning and back on Friday afternoons. Yesterday was my birthday and it was kind of a bummer that he would be unable to be with me because I can no longer go with him due to being so close to my due date and also watching the baby of a friend of mine a few days a week. I also had a doctor's appointment the morning of my birthday. He had to leave Sunday night this week because he had a meeting early Monday morning so this week was going to be an extra long one. His grandmother and sister live just around the corner from me so his sister invited me to dinner to celebrate my birthday. She made meatloaf which is my favorite and I took my son over at six to have dinner. Her kids had been whispering and she had been shushing them when I had been over there that morning to drop off my son so she could watch him while I was at the doctor so I knew they were up to something. I just figured they were planning on getting me a cake etc. When I got there my husband's aunt "just happened to be there dropping something off." His sister was finishing up making dinner and his grandmother told me some other friends of the family were stopping by because they had a layover here and wanted to say hi. They showed up a few minutes later and said they could only stay for a minute but were glad that it worked out so they could see me on my birthday. All of a sudden amid all the craziness with everyone talking and hugging and passing around the baby I hear the door open and see my sister and another friend walk through the door along with my husband! He had driven all the way to work on Sunday night, worked Monday, worked half a day Tuesday and then driven all the way back just to be there for my birthday!!! Then he had to get up this morning (Wednesday) and drive back again only to drive back here on Friday!!! I told him he was crazy and I love him more than anything. On top of everything else he got me the coolest cake. I will post pictures as soon as I get them. Yesterday was the first anniversary of my 29th birthday which I have proclaimed all year long as the day I stopped aging. I figure since I use an anti-aging skincare system that actually works why should I keep counting older when I won't look any older? ;) My husband has been teasing me with a count down all year to my "30th birthday." I am also a huge fan of the TV show Doctor Who and have been since I was a kid. It is a British science fiction series about a time traveler. My husband got me a Doctor Who cake that had the numbers counting from one to thirty and then back to 29! It said "Rachael have a wibbly wobbly timey wimey 29th birthday, again." He designed it himself and special ordered it. This birthday will definitely go down in the history books. I don't know what I will do for him when his birthday gets here in November. I am open to suggestions . . .

What an awesome hubby, and glad you had such a fantastic birthday! When my hubby turned 30, I really wanted to have an 80s theme party, serve things like Pringles and Cocktail weiners (totally 80s to me), hang vinyl records from the ceiling, set out some old toys for display like Cabbage Patch Kids and GI Joes, and get the guests to whip out their Aqua Net and leg warmers! I have a ton of 80s CDs, and we could spin New Kids on the Block and Madonna all night! The timing didn't work out (his birthday is the day after Christmas) but I swear sometime I"m going to have the perfect 80s theme party!
