That wasn't a letter, it was a dissertation! Crikey!
One personal opinion, I find it a bit difficult to take seriously a 50 year old man named "Ricky" regardless of his intellegence and eloquent writing style. In writing a letter such as this, I think signing off with his full name (usually, Ricky is short for Richard), would have been more appropriate. JMHO.
