Was I Sent to My Room as a Child?

I don't think I was ever once sent to my room as a child.  For one thing, my room was upstairs where there was no heat in the winter and no cooling in the summer.  For another thing, my services were too much needed for my parents to allow me to waste work time sitting in my room.  We lived on a farm, and everybody had work to do.  What happened to me when I got out of line with my parents' expectations was that I was switched for my misbehavior and it was over.  I did send my children to their rooms once in a while when all they could do was argue with each other.  I did that in order to stop the wrangling, and they were usually told they could come out when they thought they could get along with their siblings.  My parents had a lot more territory to scatter me and my siblings.  One could go work at the barn, another in the hay field, and well.......you get the picture.
