Hurricanes suck!

Ok so I never blog or journal or anything in that kind of neighborhood, but after the past 2 weeks I feel the need to!

For those that don't know, we live in the affected area of Hurricane Gustav!!! And for those that still may not know what I am talking about, I am talking about the Major Category 2 Hurricane that hit the Louisiana Gulf Coast on September 1st!!!

Now Thibodaux where we live was hit hard, not as hard a Houma mind but we still got the shaft here in Thibodaux. Needless to say we we not going to stay in our trailer for this storm so we left the night before the storm hit and we stayed with my mom, along with my grandparents, great grandmother, great uncle, and my oldest brother. So long story short we had 11 people in one house with no electricity for 3 days, after 3 days my husband and I opted to go to my godfather's house in League City, TX to get our kids out of the heat, Karlee had heat rash all over back poor baby.

So we went to Texas and where having a grand old time when we got a phone call that we had to come back because my grandparents where coming to stay at my godfather's house because they didn't have running water, my mom's house still didn't have electricity and that's where we were going back to! So we were pretty pissed, pardon my french!!! Thankfully the night before we came back my mom's house got power back so it wasn't as bad as it could have been, but wait I'm not finished yet!!!

So we get back with a whopping $75 to our names since evacuating is expensive, didn't know if Paul would get a check for last week or not, and low and behold yesterday the god's smiled on us, they put him on vacation for last week so we got a check! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!! So next I call the Coast Guard to check the status of Paul's Z-card, it was mailed out on Monday, YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY, he can get his transfer to working offshore which is great after all this hurricane crap because we need the money. So at this point I am thinking that the god's must really like me since that is 2 things going right so far, so I hop in the car race over to my house to check the mail and hope that maybe maybe maybe possible the god's would really like me and I would have power back at our house, get there all the luck i get is a water bill and no electricity, dang it!!!! No Z-card, no power, so needless to say we have been living anywhere but our own house for almost 2 weeks the kids are getting tired of not being in their own house and so are we!!!! And something tells me that we won't have power anytime soon because I talked to and entergy guy that was working near our street and he said that they didn't think it would be up for another 2 weeks!!! Thankfully I have some wonderful friends that have offered for us to go stay at their houses since they have power so we can get out of my mom and stepdad's way!!!

So that's my rant on how things have been going for us since the Hurricane sorry if it bored you but I had to get it out!!!
