This is a message I sent to the Cafemom team about Childhood Cancer!
Hello,
My name is Mona and I had a son born with Neuroblastoma, Neuroblastoma is a solid cancerous tumor, it is usually found in the stomach or chest. The survival of a child diagnosed with this type of cancer really depend on his or her age. If caught early the tumor can be removed or a few rounds of chemo will take care of it. Unfortunately sign and symptoms mimic other things so children are usually diagnosed around two years of age. At that point the survival rate is around 30%, the same it was almost 20 years ago.
I am asking if there would be a way you can help raise awareness by displaying it on the advertisements like you do breast cancer. I do not have any money, I am just a mom living with a child who survived cancer. I can go as far as begging but I am not sure how effective that will be. There are thousands of families that are dealing with this everyday, not only Neuroblastoma but several other types of cancer's. Did you know that a baby can be born with cancer? My son was, thank God we found it when he was 3 months old...he had 8 rounds of chemo and 4 surgeries. Help another family! Help raise awareness to this monster we called Childhood Cancer. You can contact me through email, john_mona@q.comor on cafemom at user name blessed247.
Thank you!
Mona
AND THIS WAS THE RESPONSE!!
Hi Mona,
Thank you very much for your note.
We receive many requests to promote services to CafeMom members.
At this time, we cannot do anything -- beyond what CafeMom already does -- to promote your business.
That said, if you're a mom, and a CafeMom member, one thing you can do for now, that is free, is create an advertisement journal post. Just go to the Share --> Journals area of the site and click on 'Post a Journal Entry'. Enter your ad and just make sure to check the box that says 'Marketplace'. Your post will be added to the Marketplace section of the site.

Please let me know what you think? If it was your kid would you give up? I watch my son suffer for almost 9 months of his first year. This seemed like it was an automatic reply to a very important issue.
Comments:
I have also written to them about a nother childhood cancer..."RETINOBLASTOMA", and also have not heard a thing. We need to start our own group for children. My grandson is a 5 year survivor. I have tried to contact tons of people, and I get ignored also. When I go anywhere, if I see someone with kids...My big mouth opens...because I am passionate about this. Right after my grandson lost his eye, I lost my Mom to lung Cancer.. Write me back, maybe together we can start the ball rolling. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR PRECIOUS CHILD.

I would just write again. Let them know that this is NOT a business so it should not be treated in the same way that you treat businesses. See what they say about that. Then what I would do is do what they suggested just so you can get the word out as much as possible. God works in mysterious ways and maybe you can reach someone that way who will help get this message up off the ground with you! Don't give up. You might be met with opposition, but God is bigger... Of course, you already know this!! :) I love ya!
