baby signing question

for those who have used baby signs with you child(ren) did you notice they didn't talk that much?  if so when did they start saying words with the signs?

corgan has said words like mama, dada, baba (when he took a bottle), cracker, roll tide, etc but his recurring words are really only mama and dada.  however he can sign thank you, please, milk, and bath regularly.  i'm a first time mom so i don't know when i should worry about his vocabulary.

I didn't sign with Logan (I wish i had) but a friend of mine did with her little girl.  She's quite a bit older now, but when she was about 15 months, she had gotten so used to signing that when she was able to talk, she just kept on with the signing.  She was like Corgan, she said some words, then didn't say them again for awhile, just continued with words she knew how to say in sigh language.  It was so funny though, it was like one day, something clicked in her brain that said "Hey, I can talk."  Then she didn't shut up!

I didn't think Erika was ever gonna talk. She finally just started talking bunches one day and now I can't get her to shut up LOL. But I know she was older than Corgan. Allie doesn't talk much but I try not to woory, b/c number one, I remember how Erika was and number 2 she always has that dang passy in her mouth. But, I wouldn't worry. Some kids just don't talk as early as others.

I attempted signing for both of my kids.. They loved the MILK sign~ lol.. but Kalli is the only one that never realy talked much, even after we stopped signing..Then, here is she, about to turn 4 in a few weeks and it strarting to talk like CRAZY!!!!!

Don't be worried. You could have one that talks AS MUCH as Me or Jaden!!! Then youd never have a moment of peace!!!!

Just so you know I used sign with Emma...she knew please, thank you, more, milk, all done, eat and lots more but I can not think of them all now. As you know she talks all the dang time. She has ALWAYS been a talker but I don't think signing slowed her up any. I give lots of credit to it. Corgan is going thur that age where he knows what he wants but can not tell you just like Emma did and she would sign it and it helped soooo much.

Hey.. i tried the signing with Aiden.. he caught on to that pretty quick.. He started talking slow.. I started to read to him EVERY day, and talk to him like I would you then he caught on to that.. NOW we cant shut him up..hahaha.. dont rush it.. it will take some time
