Do you know what you want in your life? If you had to describe your perfect day to someone, could you? Most of us have a really hard time envisioning what we want. If you don't know what you want, how are you going to make it happen? You can't set a goal if you don't know what it is. You can't visualize something that is vague.
If picturing your perfect day is overwhelming, break it down. What does your home look like? What are you eating? How do you look? Who is with you? How do people treat you? Then do the same for your whole life. Again, if you simply don't know what the perfect career is for you, break it down. What are your hours? Do you go to an office, the field or stay home? What does your paycheck look like?
If you only know one thing, focus on that and then build on it. It's impossible to figure out how to get somewhere if you don't know where you're headed. Know what you want and you will have it!

I am 50 years old and I have no idea what I want, have had ideas in the past but they never seemed to work out. I would like to say I am happy with where I am, but somehow guilt creeps in, when I realize I am not contributing to our retirement. But you are right, and I should think about this more seriously.
Breaking it down makes so much sense !! Look at pieces of the picture and take it in baby steps !! Love that idea !!! You are so motivating !!
I AM ALMOST 59 YEARS YOUNG AND I JUST RECENTLY REALIZED AFTER MUCH SOUL SEARCHING I AM WHERE I WANT TO BE. ALTHOUGH I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN A PAYCHECK FOR WHAT I DO, I AM IMPORTANT IN THE LIVES OF MY FAMILY, AND I AM WORTH A LOT MORE THAN ANY PAYCHECK I COULD HAVE RECEIVED DOING ANY OTHER JOB. MY PASSION HAS ALWAYS BEEN CHILDREN, SO I DEVOTED MY LIFE TO MINE, AND ANY OTHER CHILD I CAN HELP ALONG THE WAY. THIS IS GREAT ADVICE THOUGH.
Great advice for sure! I am pretty well set were I want to be. Things are not bad in my life , thats a good thing.Maybe being a little less organized would be better. I am over organized-does that make sense??

This is so perfect! I may share it with my struggling new teachers if you don't mind. They could use some inspiration right now.
