The Wedge Called Abortion

I repeatedly see people reasoning their vote for McCain/Palin ticket on the pro-life stance of both. Not on economics, not on war, not on education or healthcare....but on that pesky little booger called Roe V. Wade. Well, I'm sorry folks, I gotta call bullshit on that one. Yes, we may very well be looking at the appointment of 2-3 Supreme Court Justices in the next four years. And yes, the thought of a McCain White House makes me very frightened. But it's not just the pro-life crusade I'm concerned with, it's all the rights we have enjoyed in our lifetimes, and those same rights being available to not only my children, but their children as well. Unfortunately, the overturn of Roe V. Wade seems to have many women convinced it means the saving of the lives of innocent babies, as they would have it. Ummm....NO. The overturn of Roe V. Wade merely means the decision for or against abortion goes back to the power of the individual states. And yes, that DOES mean abortion would be illegal in a few states in the US. BUT, does that mean abortion will simply go away? No. History shows, that regardless of law, abortions have been performed for hundreds of years. And we now live in a day and age where a simple few key words in a Google search bar can teach thousands of women how to just do it themselves in the comfort of their own unsanitary home. So, yes be concerned about the rights you are about to give away. But also be concerned that the true concept of this "pro-life" issue actually has nothing to do with life, and everything to do with choices for generations to come.

It seems strange to me...
I see on here such attitude about "Do the crime, do the time" as far as teen pregnancies go. Such a hateful stance to take on someone's blossoming daughter. They yell about the 'innocent baby'. You mean, because my baby matured into puberty that 'SHE is no longer innocent and deserves not your protection, or your prayers? My innocent daughter is beautiful and blossoming and SAFE inside whatever decision she makes. Her innocence does not diminish. I love her. The right-wing's hatred for my daughter appalls me, yet their intense love for the unborn confuses me. I guess they love you, until they meet you. Then forget it.

I think it's BS that Roe V Wade ever passed in the first place! But, that's not the ONLY reason I'm voting McCain/Palin.
How can you say it has nothing to do with life?! An abortion is murder, plain and simple. If women are stupid enough to want to stop a life, then doing it in the unsanitary conditions of their own homes and getting sick from it, serves them right. I don't care if you get mad. It's my opinion and the truth.

And lets not forget all the "democrats" using it as way to keep the women in line... This one is a " non" issue.. Because both parties use ROE VS WADE to keep their base..
so true. and im sorry but if your raped why should you have to go through all the pain and agony of carrying a baby you didnt even try to make and werent responsible for and then have to give birth to it and then know you gave it away?!??! it also brings up the issue of those women who will have and keep their babies just to beat them neglaect them or one day kill them. and lets face it there are women and girls out there who will try to terminate their babies on their own.
to not realize that is just plain ignorance!
