I just realized something and I'm freaking out! My power has been out since 2AM and could be out for days. I'm really worried about my 3 month supply of insulin in the frig! My insurance won't cover more until the 3 months is up and at the price, I couldn't afford even one bottle, let alone the 4 a month I need. I just had my mom run to my house to get it in her frig, but it's been 14 hours now! I'm freaking out a bit! Not to mention our money situation and all the food that has probably spoiled. We have NO MONEY WHATSOEVER until Thursday and even then barely anything. How the heck are we going to replace all the groceries in the fridge and freezer? And the insulin, $85 a vial x 4 vials a month x 3 months = $1020!!!!!

*** Update*** - My parents went to my house and got it. It was still pretty cold. They put it in their fridge for me. Our power came back around dinner time last night. Phew!

Have you thought about contacting the Red Cross? They may have dry ice to put in your fridge...especially since it is tied to a medical issue!
your insulin should be fine not refrigerated. It actually is better when it's not cold for working properly. It is meant to be refrigerated for storage purposes for longevity, but for your daily use (even 4 months at a time it should be fine , so long as it's not HOT in your home ;) Hope your power situation is resolved smoothly ;)
Glad your insulin is fine. We pretty much had to throw every thing out. I think we still have ketchup and mustard and pickles. lol My DH went the other night to the store and picked up just a couple things to get us by like milk and bread. Friday we'll do the real shopping and I don't wanna see how much it's gonna be!

It will be fine - I had gestational diabetes while pregnant and due to my living situation at the time - I did not always have access to a refrigerator. I did the best I could and it all worked out. My insulin was fine even if I could not keep it cold all the time.
