One of the many reasons I love this site!

A few months ago, I got a message from the Cafemom team that I had been one of 20 people chosen for the Cafemom/Wal-mart Influencer Program which meant a free $100 gift card to Wal-mart to buy clothes for my little one and write about my shopping experience.

We have 3 Wal-mart stores in Topeka and I knew the clothing selection at the one nearest to me for 6-9 month baby girl clothes was limited so I went to one of the other locations.  They had a much better selection of shoes Halle's size so I was happy with the 2 pair we purchased.

I looked at clothes and picked out what I liked pretty quickly.

(The "Cute as a Cupcake" outfit is by far my most favorite thing I've EVER found at Wal-mart!)

We also had to get socks because it seems like the dryer monster is ALWAYS eating them.

And finally, what girl doesn't need accessories?  With Halloween coming up, we had to get her some bows.

I had a great time shopping for new clothes for Halle.  It's always nice to be able to shop with someone else's money!  My only "problem" was, when I was searching for clothes to buy to finish off the gift card, everything I liked was too big for her.  They had some really cute Halloween skirts but they were all at least 2T.  Also in the "too big" category was a KU Cheerleader outfit.  I was a little disappointed that the other things I REALLY liked, I wasn't able to get for her because it would be years before she could wear them.  I also noticed that they have a huge clothing selection for newborn and 0-3 months but as they get into the 3-6 and 6-9, the selection kind of dwindles.  I'd like to see more long-sleeved onesies in the bigger sizes for babies.  There was a package of brown and pink onesies that I really liked but with the winter coming, I didn't want to get her too many things with short sleeves.  I was happy to get the long-sleeved pink onesie with the dog on it.  They also had cute jackets that were too big for her as well.  Wal-mart should look into stocking a more even supply of sizes when it comes to baby clothes.

Thanks Cafemom and Wal-mart for such a great experience!
