My name is Ashley, I am 20 years old.
I had a babygirl on April 7th,2008. Her name is Storie Lynn Ammons. She is absolutely wonderful. I am so proud to be a mommy. I married my husband on August 8th, 2007 about two weeks before he went to bootcamp for the Navy. About 4 days after we got married, we found out I was pregnant. COMPLETE SUPRISE. I actually didn't think I could get pregnant =P. So he went to bootcamp about a week and a half after I found out I was pregnant. I don't think I have ever been so scared in my life!!! I moved to Great Lakes, Illinois with him while he was doing his A school. It was 7 months long.. crappiest 7 months of my life-- that was the worst winter ever. Record snowfall since like 1907. ew..
A little story about my Storie =)
About 2 months before I delivered my baby, My doctor told me I might need a C-section. I was scared.. I did all the research i possibly could. She told me I had a narrow and flat pelvic bone and it might make it hard for my baby to get out. So she said we will wait and see. Couple weeks before my due date, my doctor told me my baby wasnt far enough down and that might mean she doesn't have enough room to drop. First week of April, after my due date passed, the doctor wanted to schedule a C-section if anything hadn't hapened over the weekend. Man I was so upset. I really didnt want a c-section. But I knew it was probably for the best. My dad came in town end of march, and on April 6th we went to a cubs game. Last day before I became a mommy. Had a good time, walked a lot. That night, went home, took a shower, hung out with my hubby.. At about 1130pm, I started having contractions, but nothing major--i had those pains before and nothing ever happened, they just went away. So we went to bed at about 12am thinking we were going to be waking up at 8am to go have a baby. Yeah right, that wasnt Storie's plan. She decided to start coming that night. Around 1230am I just couldn't stand it anymore. I told my husband I thought it was time. I called my doctor and she said to go ahead and go to the hospial. Went in, had an exam, and about 30 minutes later, my water broke. It was crazy! So we were still playing the "wait-and-see" game because my doctor wasn't sure I could still deliver vaginally. hours went by, progressing normally, my mom and my husbands grandma had made it around 3pm that day. Around 330pm, my doctor said she thinks we can go ahead and try and push. So I did. I was doing great! they kept telling me I was a "good-pusher".. No prior experience necessary =). Storie was sunny-side up so I had to do some weird squat exercises to get her to turn around. She did, so we kept going with the pushing. At 4:17pm My precious baby girl Storie was born =). 7 pounds 2.5 ounces, 19.75 inches. She has quite a sense of humor =)
