I am so done with them at the moment. We have our car and home owners through them. I have been a customer since I got out on my own and Ed went on as soon as we were married. Well today I found out because they screwed up we have been without insurance since the end of July and I am steaming mad.
Citizens cancelled our insurance for non-payment. I went online and paid what they said I owed. They applied it to an old policy of ours not our current one. So of course it comes up as non-payment. They are blaming it on us and will not correct the issue. They did return our money which came in todays mail as well as a call from our agent. Citizens will not correct the issue the agent said. She gave me a few numbers to call, but of course it was too late to call them as it is after 5:00 when I find all this out.
I break down in tears. I know I should not over something so simple and not my fault but I did. Just the way I am. I am sitting here so pissed off. They have been a great company to deal with till this. They make the mistake and we are being punished for it. We can't be a customer no more and because they cancelled the policy not only are we driving illegally we are going to have to pay more to get insured.
I will be looking for a new company tomorrow, not only for our car insurance but our homeowners as well. I have referred others to them and bragged about their service. NEVER AGAIN. I will not be doing that any more.
Sorry for the vent. I just had to get it out. It is just another thing for me to do, when I can't keep my head above water. I am starting to spiral with my emotions again. Too much going on this week and such and I just want to hide. I did not need to argue with the Agent. She said she could not do anything, but I am not sure I believe that either. SO if you have an insurance recommendation I would love to hear it. Thanks.

We use American Family insurance here. They have been great to us and great to work with. We have both home and auto insurance.
Look around and find the best deal for you. *hugs* Sorry this happened to you. Thats just screwed up on so many different levels.
Thanks. Looks like we are stuck with Progressive for 6 months then we can look at other options as we won't have had a cancellation. We will be changing the home owners then as well. I don't even care if I pay more. I am done with Citizens.

That totally stinks. When you call, keep asking for their manager until you reach someone high up. We just went through Traveler's for home & auto for us in Indiana and they were super cheap compared to what we were paying here.
