I did it once for a shopping trip shortly after I was married.
I was living in England at the time and my husband, myself and some friends (another couple) went to France.
We left at 6:00 am for the three hour drive to Dover, then caught the ferry across the channel to Calais. Spent the day shopping, had dinner and caught the ferry home.
At 2:00 am as we passed through London, we did a bit of sight-seeing, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street, before heading home.
We finally crawled into bed at 6:00 am completely exhausted, but we had a great time and made some great memories.
My friend passed away from breast cancer 11 years ago.
Sam this is for you<3

Beek- yep, I think we could stay up like that when we were younger-- and time and age does change that... whch sucks! I stayed up for twenty-four hours (maybe 25) just the other day. It's not something I wanted or needed to do... just could not sleep (which sucked), SO, I turned on hulu and watched a shitload of movies I missed in the past few years.. I think I would have preferred sleep, fo sho. The movies I "missed" should have stayed that way,, (except "Finding Forrester", which was wonderful).
Anyway, I liked your post.. and appreciated that you dedicated it to your freind. YOU are a true friend!
