Dayna is doing really well. We're both so glad! Well, Ryan is, too, of course.
I took her to a follow up visit with her doctor yesterday and he said she's doing very well. We go next Thursday to get her stitches out. He said that that would be uncomfortable and to take her pain meds about an hour before her appointment and she would be fine.
She's been doing really good. Getting around is getting easier, even though she's not putting any weight on her foot yet, she's getting good with the crutches. The doc said to start trying to move her big toe and putting weight on her foot a little at a time. And keep using the crutches. She's really looking forward to the day, hopefully soon, that she can take a shower! I've been washing her hair in the sink and she's been washing up, but there's nothing like a good shower, especially when you CAN'T have one yet!
She feels bad that I have to do all this stuff for her, but I told her that I had a lot of practice with Mary, so it was cool.
She was ready to get out of the house for a while, so we all headed to Bed Bath and Beyond to see what there was to see. Dayna got a coupon in the mail, so she was sure she'd find something for the house and get a discount. When we got there, Ryan went in search of a wheel chair for Dayna so she wouldn't have to hobble around the store. I followed around behind Ryan pushing Dayna down the aisles, carrying Dayna's purse on one arm and swinging the crutches on the other. We had fun looking at all the gadgets, the colorful pillows, the kitchen ware, the bath accessories. Dayna didn't buy anything, That's ok.
Off to Kohl's! She wanted some more comfy pants to wear during her convelescance so we scoured the racks near the door we came in while Ryan went in search of a wheelchair. This time Ryan had to give up his driver's license in order to use the wheel chair, just in case we decided to go for a joy ride outside of the department store.
By the time we covered every department, looking at sale stuff, going through the clothes, peeking at the jewelry, sniffin' all the candles and looking at all the shoes Dayna can't wear yet, Dayna was ready to go home, have some Motrin and put ice on her foot.
Every day she's getting better and that just puts a smile on my face. I can't tell you how absolutely horrified I was hearing her on the phone Monday night while was driving around Georgia and not able to do anything. It broke my heart!
Oh, and the mother-in-law thing just keeps getting better. Now my husband is in the dog house- Big Time! He gave her my cell phone number! He knows I was really angry at her and was really avoiding her so as not to become a psycho bitch on the phone! But now she has my cell phone and I answered the darn thing!
Oh well.
I don't think she'll be calling again anytime soon.
